ASHOK PARBHU, MANAGING DIRECTOR, CAL>ISUZU
|
For those of you who have driven past our CAL ISUZU site in Hamilton during the last few months you will be aware that we have had a major re-development underway. The economic climate we are in right now has been challenging for us as it has for everyone, however at CAL ISUZU we have made a concerted effort to ensure that during these times we have continued to invest in our business, our staff and in you, our loyal customers.
When we officially open the door on the new facility later this month, we believe we will be better positioned than ever before to meet your truck purchasing and servicing needs in a purpose built streamlined environment.
So, if you're heading our way any time soon, drop in, catch up with the team, get a preview of our new CAL ISUZU facility and at the same time have a look at the fantastic range of New and Premium Used trucks we have in stock.

DID YOU KNOW?
The Right Hon. Steven Joyce, Minister of Transport has recently signed into law, changes to the Class 1 drivers license. Under existing law you may only drive a vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of 4500 kg or less on a car license. Your Gross Laden Weight (GLW) and your Gross Combined Weight (GCW) may not exceed 4500 kg as well.
Most fishermen and campervan owners in NZ were in violation of the law on a daily basis with many exceeding the 4500 kg tolerance. This breach was never really enforced however there was always a black cloud of uncertainty hanging over the class 1 driver.
As of April 1, 2012 you will be able to drive a vehicle with a GVM of 6000 kg or less on a class 1 license. You will also be able to load to the full 6 tons and your GCW may also be 6000 kg or less.
This law change will give the commercial transport operator ability to carry a little more product and hopefully be more productive. The recreational user will no longer have to worry about whether he or she requires a class 2 license to tow the family boat.
The only restriction is on a Class 1 Restricted or Learners license where the driver may not exceed 4500 kg whether it is Gross Laden Weight or Gross Combined Weight.
Well done Mr. Joyce and not before time!

Client Focus - Hobsons Horsecoaches
If you are involved in equestrian pursuits you would have most certainly heard of Hobson Horsecoaches and Motorhomes. You may not have been to their Pahiatua facility however their name is synonymous with quality and innovation.
Hobson Horsecoaches and Motorhomes is solely owned by Brian and Sue Hobson. They have been in the coach building business in Pahiatua for 35 years now. Brian did his time with Rolls Royce in Derby, England. He worked for Rolls Royce for 7 years as a sheetmetal worker and coppersmith. No wonder their attention to detail is second to none.
Sue Hobson is herself a much accomplished equestrian rider and has represented New Zealand in the Volvo World Cup in Werribee, Australia at Grand Prix level amongst a long list of other achievements. Sue is now the New Zealand Judges Officer and overseas the training of over 200 judges internationally. Sue has a great deal of input into what works for both the horses and the ladies and the little innovations that make their units unique.
An example of the features from one Hobson’s creations includes slide out sides, satellite television, air conditioning, leather lazy boy, swivel seating and a three-seater sofa which folds out into a queen-size bed, while above the cab is a king-size bed, so it sleeps five easily. Add to the mix a state of the art sound system, TV/video, fridge/freezer, gas oven/griller, microwave, separate shower room, separate toilet/bathroom, inverter, hydraulic tailgate, quiet generator and 240V power, and they have all the ingredients for a good time on the road.
One new innovation that has taken place after extensive research and development is their latest creation, the Horsecoach/Motorhome.
